Madagascar is one of the most fascinating places on earth, but its also one of the poorest and most primitive. International society still has not paid enough attention to the situation on Madagascar, considering the ongoing ecological catastrophy. Nevertheless, to get engaged and involved in Africa is no easy task. The key for anyone that wishes to help or do business here, is to understand the people, the culture and how the different aspects are connected.

Today we see several major issues on Madagascar, but forest is an essential keyword. In the forests you find a number of different unique species, and here the carbon diokside is converted into clean air. The roots of the trees also ties the soil. This is why reestablishing the forest is important not just to preserve endangered species and taking in carbon diokside, but also to stop erotion, prevent loss of agricultural land and that desert-areas gain more terrain.

MWLs ambition is to contribute with projects that can reverse this negative syclus. We invest not only in plants and machines - we invest in the future of the Malagasy society.

On the following facts pages you are given a very brief presentation of different selected facts, situations and issues that we face on Madagascar today. However, to dig a little deeper into these topics, we recommend that you visit some of our links.
